Registration for Extended Fall Ball Season Now Open!UpdatedSaturday June 27, 2020 bySteve Greene.
HBA is happy to report that registration for an extended Fall Ball season is now open!
First off, many thanks to those that kept a credit with us from the Summer/Spring season cancellation, it is because of you that we are able to offer this season! The extended Fall Ball season is going to start the last week of July, Monday the 27th. We will be playing into mid-October per usual. The goal here is to take late July through Late August to practice and begin games in late August. We have worked closely with the city and schools to secure as much field time as possible with an eye on the safety of our players being top concern.
Please keep in mind that this season will not look like previous seasons. We are in unprecedented times and as a youth sports organization, we have to respond accordingly. The safety of our athletes and coaches are top priority so when we get back to the fields, we will be following the protocols for youth sports as laid out by the various governing agencies…again, it will not look the same as seasons past.
If you kept a credit with us you should have received an email from HBA with a unique code to use at sign up. If you requested proof of a credit prior to now you will get a code but you should already have a credit in your shopping cart that I sent you a screen shot of when we were emailing about it. If you do not get a code and believe you should, please understand that we are expecting some hiccups and will work through them with you. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and you will get a response from Dan Keidel to work through it. We will honor all credits this fall ball or any season in the future should you choose not to play fall ball.
Here are a couple of important notes that I want everyone to know up front.
Please read the posted document for the extra items required of coaches during these times. I understand that many of them are non-standard and it will be harder to be a coach this season. If we do not have enough coaches, we can not accept players and may even have to unregister some players so please think about if you want to be a coach, but also please know that we are expecting our volunteers to take the safety precautions seriously and follow them. We are posting these up front in the spirit of full communication as to what is expected, it will not look the same as years past.
I look forward to having the kids back on the ball field and wanted to send a note to communicate with the Hilliard baseball community that we are excited to be playing but that we are taking the protocols and requirements seriously as safety of the kids and volunteers is #1 priority.
We are all in this together, it will look different then years past…I wanted everyone to have a full view of the changes prior to registration so I invite you to review the documents we send out prior to registering. Looking forward to seeing you at the ball field…6 feet apart of course!
